MSJC Men Bounce Back From Loss With Easy Win Over Barstow

The MSJC men's basketball team got back to their winning ways on Wednesday night as they won easily over visiting Barstow College 99-61.

The Eagles forced the Vikings into 18 first half turnovers and shot over 59% (26-44) from the field in the opening half to build a big lead of 57-28 going into the locker room.  MSJC's shooting cooled off some in the second half, but they continued to force Barstow into turnovers and cruised home with the victory.

Five Eagles reached double figures in scoring led by a game high 22 from Isiah Shirley, he also had 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.  Isaiah Skinner added 16 points while Dasean Stevens had 13 and 7 boards.  Bruce Robison scored 12 points off the bench and Darius Mason added 10.  Jackson Bernardo passed out a game high 7 assists.

The Eagles improved to 18-2 overall with the win and they complete the first round of Inland Empire Athletic Conference games with a mark of 6-2.  MSJC will start it's second round of IEAC games Saturday when they host Cerro Coso at 3 pm.  Cerro Coso will come into Saturday's game tied for first place with Chaffey in the IEAC standings at 7-1, MSJC and San Bernardino are both 6-2.
