The MSJC men's basketball team earned their 20th win on the season Wednesday as they went on the road and came away with a 91-81 victory at Victor Valley in an Inland Empire Athletic Conference contest.
The Eagles built a 12 point halftime lead and then held off the Rams, who closed it to within five early on in the second half. A balanced offensive attack led by 25 points from Isaiah Skinner helped MSJC earn the win. Skinner also had 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots while BJ Brown added 23 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Isiah Shirley came off the bench to add 13 points, Dasean Stevens had 11 points and 9 boards. Elijah Shirley just missed a double double as he scored 9 and pulled in 9 rebounds, Azmar Sabb made a contribution off the bench as he added 6 points.
The Eagles improved to 20-2 on the season with the win and are currently 8-2 in IEAC games, just one game behind first place Chaffey in the conferrence standings. MSJC returns to action Saturday when they host Palo Verde College as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The women's game on Saturday will tip-off at 1 pm with the men to follow at 3.
