The MSJC men's basketball team came back from a 10 point deficit on Wednesday night to pick up an important road win at San Bernardino Valley 89-81 in a key Inland Empire Athletic Conference clash.

The game never seemed to have any rhythm as the two teams combined for 67 fouls and 89 free throw attempts on the night.  The Wolverines led the Eagles by one at the half 38-37 and  pushed the lead to 10 at 52-42 with 14:46 to play.  The Eagles answered with a 19-4 run over the next six minutes to build a lead of 61-56 with 8:15 left in the game.  SBVC never took the lead back after that point and MSJC held on for the victory.

Dasean Stevens led the Eagle offense with 21 points, he also had 9 rebounds and 3 assists.  Isaiah Skinner had 20 points in just 24 minutes, before fouling out of the game, he went 11 of 12 from the free throw line.  BJ Brown and Isiah Shirley both scored 14 in the win for MSJC while Jackson Bernardo had 8, Azmar Sabb 7, and Elijah Shirley pulled in 9 boards.  When it was over 8 players had fouled out of the game, 6 from SBVC and 2 for the Eagles.  MSJC ended the night 43 for 52 from the charity stripe while the Wolverines were 30 of 37.

The win kept the Eagles one loss behind Chaffey (10-1) in the IEAC standings as they improved to 22-2 overall and 10-2 in league games.  SBVC fell to 8-4 in IEAC match ups and 15-9 overall.  MSJC has the weekend off, before hosting a pair of games next week.  Wednesday the Eagles take on Copper Mountain at 7 pm and Saturday MSJC hosts College of the Desert at 3 pm.
