The MSJC men's basketball team dropped to 2-3 on the season after losing a pair of tough games.
Saturday the Eagles traveled to Los Angeles where they took on LA Harbor College and came away on the short end of a 74-67 score. MSJC trailed by three at the half 38-35 but fell behind by as much as 13 in the second and could not fight their way back in the loss. Kristian Jemerson led the way for the Eagles with a double double as he scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Elijah Edwards added 13 points and Azmar Sabb had 9 off the bench.
Monday MSJC hosted Santa Monica in San Jacinto and despite leading 43-41 at the half the Eagles fell by a final score of 86-70. The game was close until the final five and a half minutes when the Eagles went cold from the field. A basket by Adrian Mosley with 5:24 to play in the contest cut the Corsairs lead to 73-70, but the Eagles would not score again. James Freeman IV and Mosley both recorded double doubles in the loss. Freeman finished with a team high 16 points and 12 rebounds while Mosley grabbed a game-high 15 boards and scored 10 points. Edwards added 12 points and Jemerson scored 11.
The Eagles continue non-conference action this week as they travel to San Marcos Wednesday to take on Palomar and then return home on Saturday to host Fullerton. Wednesday's game at Palomar is set to tip at 6 pm while Saturday's game will begin at 3 pm.
