Eagles Fall to #3 Ranked Fullerton

The MSJC men's basketball team struggled closing out the first half on Saturday afternoon and lost at home to #3 ranked Fullerton College 88-68.

The Eagles played solid basketball for the first fifteen plus minutes of the opening half against the Hornets, but a 17-2 run over the final 4:28 gave Fullerton an 18-point halftime lead. Gary Dotson made a free throw line jumper for the Eagles with 4:28 to play in the first to cut the Hornet lead to 29-26, but that is when Fullerton went on their run to make the score 46-28 at the break.

The Eagles could not close the gap in the second half despite making 7 three-point shots in the final 20 minutes.

Corion Long scored a game-high 16 points for MSJC, he connected on 5 of his 6 shots from the three-point line. Adrian Mosley added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. Kameron Manning-Fuimaono also reached double figures with 12 points while Armani Battiste had 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. JQ Strong led the Hornets with 14 points.

The Eagles are now 3-4 on the season and have Thanksgiving week off before taking part in the Hypland Classic at Riverside December 4th and 5th. Wednesday the 4th MSJC will play East Los Angeles at 2 pm and on the 5th the Eagles will take on RCC at 4 pm. Both games next week are at Wheelock Gym on the RCC Campus.
