Men's Golf; Eagles 6th at OEC Tee-Off Classic

The MSJC men's golf team continued to swing into early action in their 2020 season as they finished 6th at the Orange Empire Conference Tee-Off Classic on Monday.

The tournament held at Candlewood Country Club featured 10 teams with Cypress College claiming the title on the day with a team score of 374.  The Eagles turned in a team score of 399 on the day nine strokes back of fifth place Palomar College.  Kyler Sargent led the way for MSJC as he shot an impressive 72 on the day, that was good enough for a tie for second place in the individual competition.  Luke Bartram of Cypress was the medalist at the event with a 69.

Jordan Medlock was next for the Eagles with a 76, while teammate Connor Pierson also broke 80 with a 79 Monday.  Evan Freeman carded an 84 while Micah Stewart shot 88, and Brian Bashaw rounded out the day for MSJC with an 89.

The Eagles will now have a week to prepare for their annual Eagle Classic which will be held at Soboba Country Club on Wednesday February 12th.  The tournament is scheduled to begin at 11 am next Wednesday.
