
The MSJC men's golf team's season is underway with the Eagles taking part in a pair of events thus far.
The Eagles opened the season on February 12th when they played in the Cuyumaca Classic held at Steele Canyon Golf Club. MSJC posted a score of 433 in the nine-team event and finished in eighth place. Isaiah Torres shot the best score of the day for the Eagles with a 74 which was good enough for a tie for sixth in the individual standings. Bradon Walker turned in a 79 for MSJC.
February 19th MSJC hosted the Eagle Classic at Soboba Country Club in San Jacinto. The nine-team event was won by Orange Coast College who shot a team score of 381. The Eagles once again were led by Torres who shot a team best 75 while Walker was next with an 80. McLain Brigham carded an 89 for MSJC while Akoni Johnston shot 92. Ethan De La Hoya and Tayven Lamprey rounded out the scoring for MSJC with a 94 and 96 respectively.
The Eagles this week will take part in the RCC Classic at Victoria Club before opening conference play on Wednesday. Wednesday the team will travel to Alondra Golf Club to start Orange Empire action in a tournament hosted by El Camino.
