Tennis Team Earns Third Straight Win

The men's tennis team traveled to San Diego Mesa College and came away with a solid road victory, 8-1. With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-1 on the season.

Freshman, Fermin Blando, had an impressive day, in both singles and doubles.  He beat Andrew Koski, 6-3, 6-1 in the number one singles position.  Along with his partner, Fernando Arguello, the pair posted an impressive 8-2 win over the very formidable number one doubles team from Mesa.  Freshmen, Isaac Morales and Julian Valencia both cruised to straight set wins in singles, while sophomores, Cody Rodriguez and Ashton Vega also had wins. Of note, Vega remains undefeated 5-0, in singles play on the season.  The guys are back in action next Thursday when they travel to Palomar College for a non-conference match.

Blando added;  "Everything was working for me today. I felt very comfortable in both matches.  This is a good win for us!"  Coach Cory Page, "I was really happy with our focus today and how we came out of the gates fast in the doubles.  Our communication is getting better and better with each match and we are starting to see the little things we have worked on diligently pay off in a big way."
