The MSJC men's tennis team won in dramatic fashion on Thursday as they defeated visiting Imperial Valley 5-4.

Eagle #1 singles player Andy Gibson picked up his first win of the year in straight sets as he won 6-1 and 6-1.  The Eagles were down 2-1 after doubles, but with Imperial having just 4 singles players the team match came down to the #3 singles match to decide the winner.  MSJC's #3 John Gagnepain came up with a dramatic win, 6-3, 3-6 and 10-8 in a tie break to give the Eagles the victory.

Patrick Bellah and Gerson Rivera-Garcia both came up short in their singles matches, while the team of Gibson and Rivera-Garcia just missed out on a double victory 8-6.

The win improves the Eagles to 1-3 on the season, they will play two home matches next week.  Tuesday MSJC welcomes Victor Valley to San Jacinto and Thursday Mt. SAC will be here.  Both matches next week begin at 2 pm.
