Men's Tennis Hosts San Diego City and Desert

The men's tennis team hosted the San Diego City College Knights on Tuesday, March 1st.  The Eagles lost by a final score of 0-9.

In doubles action, the duo of Andy Gibson and Gerson Rivera-Garcia had an upset in their sights versus the Knights #1 team of Andrew Robert Suver and Sebastian Casteneda.  Midway through the eight-game pro-set, the Eagle doubles team was ahead four games to three.  However, a barrage of heavy kick-serves from San Diego City proved to be the difference as the visitors rallied back to win 8-4.

In #1 singles play, Gibson battled City's Brian Espinoza Castro in a very tight match featuring many hard-fought rallies.  Gibson's commanding serve kept Castro off-balance throughout the contest.  In this very well-played, back-and-forth duel, Castro edged Gibson by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

Thursday the Eagles lost to College of the Desert 9-0.
