Softball Loses a Pair of Close Games

The MSJC softball team lost two close games last week including an extra inning loss as they fell to Grossmont 13-11 and Imperial Valley 11-10.

The Eagles rallied back from an 10-3 defecit at Grossmont to score five times in the top of the 6th and 3 in the 7th, but came up just short losing to the Griffons 13-11.  Destiny Sanchez, Julissa Ledesma, and Alyssa Mosqueda each had 2 RBIs in the loss.  Tiffany Borst had a team high 4 hits, while Ledesma added 3 both had a pair of doubles.

Last Wednesday the Eagles battled Imperial Valley to an 8 inning loss on the road 11-10.  MSJC got two RBIs a piece from Brittni Heath and Torie Thorstensen.  The two teams were tied at 9-9 at the end of seven innings.  The Eagles scored the go ahead run in the top of the 8th, but the Arabs rallied for 2 in the bottom to take the victory.

MSJC who is now 1-14 on the season and 1-7 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.  The Eagles will play just once this week when they travel to Saddleback on Monday.
