The MSJC softball team earned a split of a doubleheader on Friday as they traveled to LA Valley for two non-conference games.

In game one of the day, it was a tough 4th inning for the Eagles as they let a close 2-1 game get away from them and lost 6-1.  Emma Bustos had a pair of hits in the loss for MSJC, while Chelsi Washburn drove in the Eagles lone run.

In game two the Eagle bats came alive and the pitching was dominate as MSJC picked up their first win of the year 8-0.  The offense got thier first two runs of the game of a double from Alexia Franco in the top of the 2nd inning.  That was followed by RBIs from Veronika Prado and Washburn to give MSJC a 4-0 lead through two innings.  MSJC was right back at it in the third as they tacked on 3 more runs on another RBI from Fanco and a two run single from Alexis AldridgeJasmine Barerras would give the Eagles even more cushion as she drove in an MSJC run in the 4th.

The pitching was also stellar as Bererras went three scoreless innings allowing just two hits and Amy Perrault pitched the final two innings of the game without allowing a baserunner.

The Eagles now 1-6 on the season will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Citrus for a 2:30 game.  Friday MSJC will be at home for a conference doubleheader against Chaffey with the first game in Menifee set to begin at 12 pm.
