The MSJC softball team extended their winning streak to six games this past week as they earned three home victories.

The Eagles started the week on the Menifee Valley Campus Tuesday with wins over both Imperial Valley and Ventura. They wrapped up the busy week with a win on Saturday over Southwestern.

Tuesday the Eagles cruised to victory in the opener against Imperial as they won in five innings 13-2. Bailey Heuer had a huge day at the plate for MSJC as she went four for four and drove home five runs. Brooke Schaffer added a pair of RBIs and Annalie Castanon stole three bases and scored three runs.

In their second game of the day, Tuesday, it was a much tighter affair with the Eagles edging Ventura 5-4 in eight innings. The game was a back-and-forth contest with the lead changing hands five times. Madison Morris finally put the Eagles up for good with a walk-off double in the bottom of the eighth. Trinity Robinson went the distance in the circle for MSJC, throwing eight innings and allowing just two earned runs.

Saturday the Eagles capped off the week with a 5-1 win over visiting Southwestern. Both teams had just five hits in the game, but the Eagles were able to take advantage of theirs. Heuer capped off her strong week with two more RBIs while Castanon, Natalie Juarez, and Aubrey Morrow each had one. Ellianna Pasley earned the pitching victory as she threw four shut-out innings to start the game.

The Eagles are now 9-3 on the season and will be in action four times this week. MSJC will start with a trip to Antelope Valley on Tuesday and then once again hit the road Friday for games against San Diego Mesa and Citrus. Both games on Friday will be played at Mesa. The Eagles will end the week with a home game on Saturday at noon against Compton.
