The MSJC women's basketball team won on Thursday against Antelope Valley College and then fell to Palomar on Friday in the annual San Jacinto Lion's Club Tip-Off Classic.

On Thursday the Eagles held a narrow two point lead after the first quarter and a three point lead at halftime, before finally breaking away in the second half to defeat Antelope Valley 82-65.  Deja Blue flirted with a triple double as she scored 14 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and handed out 8 assists in the victory.  Rayven Crook and Alaysia Kidwell were MSJC's top scorers in the contest as they both had 16 points.  Mariah Sanchez came off the bench to add 12 points while Diamonere Butler and Alexis Pina each pulled down 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

In Friday's game with Palomar the Eagles jumped out to an early 20-14 lead after the first period, but saw their offense go cold from there on as they lost to the Comets 77-50.  The turning point in the game was the second quarter in which the Eagles could only manage to score 5 points.  Blue once again recorded a double double as she had 13 points and had 12 rebounds.  Pina was just shy of her own double double as she scored 11 points and had 9 rebounds in the contest.  Sandee Heiermann also reached double digits in scoring with 10.

The Eagles are now 3-1 on the season and will travel to San Marcos this weekend for games against East Los Angeles and Allan Hancock.  Friday MSJC will take on ELAC at 4 pm and on Saturday the Eagles will play Hancock at 3 pm, both games will be hosted at Palomar.
