The MSJC women's basketball team came up two points short in Victorville on Monday night as they lost to Victor Valley 60-58.

The Eagles led by three after the first period 21-18, but then trailed by one as they went to the locker room down 30-29.  The two teams played an even third quarter in a game that was close throughout.  The Rams made more plays down the stretch to pull out the victory and give MSJC their first conference loss since 2018.  The Eagles last conference loss came to Palomar College on February 2nd, 2018 when they were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

The Eagles had a balanced night scoring as six players scored between 7 and 9 points.  Mariah Sanchez, Sandee Heiermann, and Rayven Crook tied for team high honors with 9 apiece.

The loss for MSJC drops them into a tie for first place in the conference with Victor Valley as both teams are now 7-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games, the loss also stopped the team's 13 game streak.  The Eagles are now 17-5 overall and return to action on Friday when they travel to Barstow for a 5 pm game.  MSJC will be at home twice next week as they host Chaffey on Monday and Palo Verde on Wednesday with both games set to tip-off at 5 pm, with men's games to follow each night at 7.
