
The MSJC women's basketball team outscored Chaffey in all four quarters Monday night on their way to a 77-41 home Inland Empire Athletic Conference victory.
The Eagles jumped out to a 16-11 lead after the first period and pushed that lead to 39-24 by halftime. MSJC came out of the locker room and put the game away in the third quarter as they outscored the Panthers 18-4 in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. The Eagles capped it off with a 20-13 advantage in the fourth for the win.
Deja Blue had a big night for MSJC as she scored a game high 20 points on a very efficient 9 of 12 from the field, she also tied for game high honors in rebounds with 13 and dished out a game best 6 assists. Mariah Sanchez came off the bench to drill five three point shots on her way to 15 points on the night. Sandee Heiermann added 13 points and 9 rebounds while Alexis Pina had a double double with 10 points and 13 boards. In all the Eagles used a big rebounding advantage 57-36 to control the game.
The win improves the Eagles to 19-5 overall on the season they are 9-1 in IEAC games, Chaffey fell to 11-11 and 6-3.
