
The MSJC women's basketball team earned their 15th straight win on Wednesday as the overcame a sloppy start to win on the road at Chaffey 74-49.
The Eagle offense got off to a very slow start as they shot 3 of 15 from the field and turned the ball over six times in the first quarter as they held just an 8-7 lead after the first 10 minutes. The offense picked up in the second as the Eagles out scored Chaffey 24-19 to go into halftime with a 32-26 lead. The Eagles would start to pull away midway through the third quarter and headed to the final period with a 53-40 lead. Solid 9 of 17 shooting in the final period allowed MSJC to put the game out of reach.
Jana Roman had a big game for the Eagles as she finished her night with a game best 28 points and a game high 14 rebounds. Sandee Heiermann had 11 points and a game high 6 assists for MSJC and Alexus Williams had a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Eagles who have already wrapped up their 5th straight conference title improved to 25-2 overall with the win and are 13-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play. MSJC will play their final regular season game on Friday night when they host Barstow at 5 pm. Friday will also mark sophomore night for the class of 2023, a brief ceremony will take place just prior to tip-off.
