
The MSJC women's basketball team more than doubled up Palo Verde by halftime on Saturday on their way to an 89-41 win in Blythe.
The Eagles built a lead of 48-22 in the opening twenty minutes and then coasted home to victory. Breyonna Bell had a big game for MSJC as she scored a game high 26 points and also passed out 5 assists and made 5 steals. Drasoni Kyles added 16 points in the win for the Eagles. Vika Afungia had one of her best games of the season as she scored 12 points and pulled in 7 rebounds. Jana Roman had another strong showing as well with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
The Eagles also picked up a second win this weekend when College of the Desert forfeited their upcoming game with MSJC that was scheduled for Wednesday.
Officially the Eagles now stand at 17-3 overall and 2-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play, with Wednesday's cancelation MSJC will return to action on Saturday January 20th when they travel to Chaffey for a 1 pm game.
