
The MSJC women's basketball team won their 17th straight game on Saturday and remained unbeaten in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference with a 96-29 home win over Barstow.
The Eagles jumped ahead 27-5 after the first quarter and saw their lead balloon to 56-11 by halftime. The Eagle defense set the tone as they forced 39 turnovers by the Vikings and made 25 steals in the victory.
Six Eagles reached double figures in scoring led by 18 each from Princess McCauley and Natalie Derla. Trinity Skinner added 16 points while Drasoni Kyles had 12 to go along with 8 steals. Kohen Marshall scored 11 off the bench and Laisha Lazu had a double double with 11 points and 11 boards.
MSJC improved to 21-3 overall with the win and are now 12-0 in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference. The Eagles have a pair of games this week starting with a home contest against San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday at 5 pm. Saturday MSJC will travel to Ridgecrest to take on Cerro Coso in a 1 pm game.
