The MSJC women's soccer team began their 2019 season last week with a pair of games as they came up short against Saddleback and earned a draw with Grossmont.

The Eagles opened the year on Tuesday August 27th with a home match against Saddleback.  The Gauchos got off to a quick start as they scored the opening goal of the match just 1 minute in, and went on to add two more before halftime as they defeated MSJC 5-0.  Lauren Reynolds had 7 saves in goal for the Eagles as the offense could manage just 4 shots on goal.

Friday the Eagles responded as they took their first road trip of the season and came away with a draw at Grossmont.  Alexandria Segeberg scored MSJC's first goal of the season on an assist from Ariana Serrato in the 30th minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.  The 1-0 lead would last into the locker room at halftime.  Grossmont would finally tie the game up in the 60th minute and neither team was able to find the net the rest of the way leading to the draw.

MSJC, who is now 0-1-1 on the season, is back in action today (Tuesday Sep. 3rd) as they travel to San Diego City College for a 1 pm match.  The Eagles will travel to Pasadena City College on Friday for a 3 pm match as well, before returning home to the Menifee Campus for a game with San Diego Mesa on Tuesday September 10th.
