Soccer team Earns Shut Out Win at Palomar

The MSJC women's soccer team scored a goal in each half and played strong defense on their way to a 2-0 non-conference win over Palomar.

The Eagles first goal of the day came in the 22nd minute on a score from Ruby Douhan, she was assisted on the play by Natalia Toral.  The 1-0 lead would hold up until halftime.  The score remained the same for most of the second half as well, before a late goal by Ariana Serrato put the match away in the 88th minute.  Sabrina Quiroz had the assist on Serrato's goal.

The MSJC defense was strong all day as Goal Keepers Alex Basoukas and Lauren Reynolds teamed up for the shut out with Basoukas playing the first 70 minutes and Reynolds closing out the final 20.

The win improved the Eagles to 2-3-1 on the season.  MSJC will return to action Tuesday September 17th when they travel to Santa Ana for a 3 pm contest.  The Eagles next home match on the Menifee Campus is slated for Tuesday October 1st when they host San Bernardino Valley in their 2019 Inland Empire Conference opener.  The match on the 1st will kick off at 4 pm.
