Eagles Drop Home Match to First Place Chaffey

MSJC's Angela Serrano and her teammates had a draw with Victor Valley on Tuesday and lost to first place Chaffey on Friday as they moved to 3-4-1 in IEAC action this season.

The MSJC soccer team dropped a tough match on Friday to Inland Empire Athletic Conference leader Chaffey 6-1.

Chaffey jumped out to an early 2-0 lead scoring in the first and 10th minute.  The Eagles tried to bounce back with their only goal of the match coming in the 14th minute when Ruby Douhan scored on an assist from Yvette Ruvalcaba.  Chaffey would  push the lead to 4-1 by the end of the first half.  MSJC could not find the goal in the second 45 minutes and the Panthers tacked on a pair of goals to make the final 6-1.

The Eagles were coming off a hard fought 0-0 tie with Victor Valley on Tuesday, a match where Amelia Romero-Flores made 5 saves in goal for MSJC.  

MSJC now stands at 5-8-3 overall on the season and are 3-4-1 in conference play.  The Eagles will be on the road for the next three matches as they travel to College of the Desert on Friday for a 3 pm kick off, followed by trips to Cerro Coso and Norco on November 2nd and 5th.  The Eagles final match of the season will be at home on November 9th when they host San Bernardino Valley.
