Julio Reyes to Take Over MSJC Women's Soccer

MSJC announced Julio Reyes will be the new women's soccer coach for the Eagles with his team looking to hit the filed this Fall.

Reyes has been part of the MSJC staff since last July.  Julio also is currently the head high school girls soccer coach at Beaumont.  Reyes is a former NCAA Division I player at UC Riverside and also played with Tecos UAG Primera A in Mexico.  "It's an honor to be named the new head coach at MSJC", said Reyes "I have a lot of colleagues and friends in the soccer community that I believe will help with the recruiting process".  Reyes led the Beaumont program to a CIF Division V title in 2020 and in that same year was named the CIF Coach of the Year for that Division.

Coach Reyes has also spent time as the Youth Director for La Academia Soccer Club in Perris and also spent a season as a volunteer assistant at UC Riverside.  "I've been fortunate to be coached by some of the top coaches in our community", he added.  "Junior Gonzalez an assistant coach for the Chicago Fire of the MLS and Tim Cupello the head men's coach at UC Riverside have both helped shape me into the coach I am today."

Reyes is already out on the recruiting trail and has set high goals for the Eagle program.  "I believe MSJC has a lot of potential to be one of the top schools in women's soccer due to the talent we have in the area".  " I am looking forward to building a strong successful and well respected soccer program here at MSJC".
