Eagle Soccer Earns Spot in So Cal Regional Play-offs

The MSJC women's soccer team was awarded an at large berth in the 2022 CCCAA state play-offs on Monday after finishing the season with a third place finish in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference.

The Eagles posted an overall record on the year of 10-7-1, they went 4-5-1 in conference play.  The play-off appearance is the first for the program since 2016 when the Eagles reached the second round and finished with an overall record of 13-7-2.

This season the team has been led in points by Karyme Mendoza who wrapped up her freshman season with 7 goals scored and 8 assists.  Chloe Baeza was the team's top goal scorer with 8 goals on the year, while Aaliyah Sims was also one of the team's offensive leaders with 6 goals and 7 assists during the year.  The goal keeper combination of Andrea Landeros and Nicole Molina were responsible for 58 saves during the season as the Eagle defense won seven games by shut out during the 2022 campaign.

The Eagles who were seeded 24th for the Regional play-offs will open post season play on Wednesday when they travel to College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.  Wednesday's match is set to kick off at 6 pm.
