The MSJC women's soccer team picked up an important Inland Empire Athletic Conference win on Tuesday at home as they defeated San Bernardino Valley 3-0 at HCN Bank Stadium.

The Eagles and Wolverines battled through a very even first half, until MSJC finally broke through in extra time to score the first goal of the match when Nadia Dogan knocked in a shot off an assist from Belinda Jara to make it 1-0 at halftime.  The Eagles then slowly took control in the second half, as they pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute on an unassisted score from Aaliyah Sims.  MSJC would put the match out of reach in the 61st minute when Jara scored with a helper from Karyme Mendoza to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.

Daisy Reyes played the first half in goal for MSJC making two saves, Ashlyn Goade played the second 45 minutes.  The shut out was the Eagles' 10th of the year.

The Eagles, ranked 15th in the latest CCCSIA state poll, improved to 10-1 on the season and 2-0 in IEAC play while San Bernardino Valley fell to 4-5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference.

MSJC has another big match coming Friday when they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert at 4 pm.  Desert enters the match at 8-4 on the year and 1-1 in the IEAC.  The Eagles will be back at home in Menifee at HCN Bank Stadium on Tuesday October 17th when they host Victor Valley at 4 o'clock.
