Soccer Wins at Desert for Ninth Straight

The MSJC soccer team continued their strong start to Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Friday as they went on the road to College of the Desert and picked up a 2-1 victory.

The Eagles fell behind for the first time in the last month Friday as Desert scored the match's first goal early taking a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the contest.  MSJC would bounce back to tie it before halftime when Aaliyah Sims scored with an assist from Belinda Jara in the 41st minute.  

The winning goal came in the 57th minute when the Eagles' Karyme Mendoza scored unassisted to make the score 2-1.  Daisy Reyes played the first half in goal for the Eagles allowing just the one goal and making 3 saves, Ashlyn Goade played the second half and made three saves.

The win pushed MSJC's record to 11-1 overall on the season and 3-0 in IEAC play.  The Eagles host Victor Valley on Tuesday October 17th at HCN Bank Stadium in Menifee, before traveling to Chaffey on Friday.  Both matches this week kick off at 4 pm.
