The MSJC soccer team traveled to San Bernardino Valley on Friday and pulled away in the second half for a 5-1 Inland Empire Athletic Conference victory.

The Eagles got the scoring started with an unassisted goal by Leilani Aves in the 20th minute.  Just two and a half minutes later the Wolverines tied it up at 1-1 with their own unassisted goal by Alexia Jimenez.  MSJC would reclaim the lead and take it into halftime in the 29th minute when Addisyn Mangrum scored with an assist from Alexis Salgado.

MSJC seized control of the match in the second half as Kayla Garcia found the back of the net three times for the Eagles.  Her first goal came with an assist from Stephanie Kenner in the 57th minute, followed by a unassisted score in the 70th minute.  Her final goal of the match was tacked on in the 86th minute with an assist from Aves.

The win kept the Eagles just one game behind Chaffey (7-0) in the IEAC standings at 6-1, they are 14-2 overall.  MSJC has just three regular season matches remaining with a rematch with Chaffey at home still on the schedule November 7th.

First though, the Eagles will host College of the Desert at HCN Bank Stadium on Tuesday, a team they defeated 2-1 on October 13th, and travel to Victor Valley on Friday November 3rd.  Tuesday's kick off is set for 4 pm.
