The MSJC soccer team earned an Inland Empire Athletic Conference victory on the road Friday but lost in a home match on Tuesday.
The Eagles traveled to Norco College on Friday where they picked up a 2-0 win. Ava Berger scored the first goal of the match in the 41st minute with an assist from Helen Elizalde to give MSJC a 1-0 halftime lead. Elizalde added the team's second goal in the 79th minute unassisted to put the match out of reach. Ashlyn Goade played most of the match in goal for the Eagles making nine saves to preserve the shutout.
MSJC returned to HCN Bank Stadium in Menifee on Tuesday and lost 2-0 to #5 state ranked Chaffey. The Panthers scored in the 11th and 49th minutes for the day's only goals. Goalkeeper Daisy Reyes played 90 minutes for the Eagles, making seven saves.
The Eagles now have an overall record of 6-4-5, they are 2-2 in IEAC matches. The team will return to the pitch on Friday when they host San Bernardino Valley at 4 pm in Menifee.
