The MSJC women's soccer team earned a key conference victory on Friday night as they won 2-0 over San Bernardino Valley at HCN Bank Stadium.

The Eagles got things started quickly as Nathali Gasca scored on a penalty kick in the ninth minute to give MSJC the early lead. The rest of the first half was a physical battle with neither team able to score.

In the second half both teams continued to get opportunities, but again neither team could find the back of the net until the 85th minute when America Chavez scored an unassisted goal to boost the Eagle lead to 2-0. MSJC was able to keep the Wolverines off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Briseida Medina earned the shutout in goal for the Eagles as she played all ninety minutes and made a pair of saves.

The win for MSJC avenged a loss to the Wolverines back on September 23rd and improved their overall record to 5-8-2. The Eagles are currently 2-3-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference contests.

The Eagles are back in action with two road matches this week on Tuesday they travel to Chaffey to take on the first place Panthers and Friday MSJC will be at Norco. Both matches this week begin at 4 pm.
