
The MSJC women's tennis team pulled out a road win on Tuesday in windy conditions in Victorville as they defeated Victor Valley 5-4.
The Eagles took a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match. The teams of Izabella Gosiengfiao and Sophia Lopez as well as Lynsie Arnold and Nicole Henry both picked up a win. Lopez and Gosiengfiao won easily 8-2 while Arnold and Henry fought through a tough match to come up with a 9-8 win, as they won the tie-breaker 7-5.
In singles the Eagles picked up wins in the #1, #2, and #3 spots. Lindsay Lemus won at the #1 spot in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. Lopez also won in straight sets 6-1 and 6-0 while Addysen Walls won in a tight match; 5-7, 6-4, and 10-7. Arnold lost a competitive match in the #5 spot 6-4, 2-6, and 8-10.
The win improved the Eagles to 4-6 overall on the season, they are 2-4 in conference play. MSJC has two regular season matches remaining on the schedule. Thursday MSJC is set to travel to Rio Hondo and the Eagles have a pending make up match at home against College of the Desert.
