The MSJC women's tennis team had a strong run at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference tournament last week and advanced four singles players and two doubles teams on to Regionals, beginning today in Ojai.

In singles Emmy Giron advanced to the semi-finals at the PCAC meet as she won two matches, before falling to the eventual conference champion Lucia Farmer from San Diego City.  Breannah Baron was strong as well as she won two matches in straight sets, befroe losing in the quarter-finals.  Trinity Anderson and Cameron Royo fought through the back draw to also qualify for the Regionals.  Both Anderson and Royo won their opening round match, lost their second, but came back to win two more matches and move on.

In doubles the duo of Giron and Baron advanced to the semi-finals before dropping a match to the eventual PCAC championship pairing from Grossmont.  Anderson and Royo also advanced winning their opening match, before falling to their teammates Giron & Baron.

Some tough news for the Eagles though, Giron will be unable to play at the Regional Tournament due to injury, meaning she and Baron will also not participate in the doubles competition.  Anderson earned a 1st round bye at Ojai while Baron and Royo will play in the opening round.  Anderson and Royo also earned a bye in the first round of doubles.

The Regional Tournament runs Thursday through Sunday April 25th-28th.
