Patrick Springer took over as the head women's tennis coach prior to the 2022 season.  Patrick is also the Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics here at MSJC.

Since taking over the program Springer has seen the team's win total triple since his first season and he has guided the program's move from the South Coast Conference into the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.  The 2024 team had a strong season as they finished runners-up in the PCAC and posted an overall record of 8-4.  The Eagles had one singles player and a doubles team each reach the semi-finals of the PCAC Tournament.  In all four players reached the 3C2A Regional Tournament in Ojai in 2024.  As a player Springer was a member of the 1997 3C2A State Championship men's tennis team at College of the Desert.

Prior to taking over the women's tennis program Springer served as the Eagles head men's basketball coach from 2003 through 2022.  He also was the head men's basketball coach at College of the Desert for three seasons and at City College of San Francisco for a year.  In his combined 21 seasons Springer's teams won 429 games against just 226 losses, at MSJC the Eagles posted a mark of 359-165.  At MSJC Springer's squads won six conference championships and advanced to the 3C2A State Elite Eight twice.
