
The MSJC volleyball team went on the road Wednesday and came away with a three set sweep of Santiago Canyon.
The Eagles won the first two sets in close match ups as they won both by the score of 25-23. MSJC found their stride in the third to win a little easier 25-17 to complete the sweep. Makenzie Nutting and Jacquiline Leanos led the offense with 7 kills a piece while Faith Galvan and Allison Rozell added 4 each. Jacquline Barbosa had a match high 15 assists and Hayley Anderson had 9. On defense Leanos added a pair of solo blocks and a block assist, while Nutting had 4 block assists. Galvan led MSJC in digs on the night with 7.
The win for MSJC is their third in their last five matches and improves their season record to 3-6. The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they travel to Riverside for a pair of matches. MSJC will begin the day with a 10 am match up against Glendale, Arizona and then play Riverside City College at 2 pm.
The Eagles will be back at home on the San Jacinto Campus next Wednesday September 18th when they host East Los Angeles at 5 pm.
