Eagle Volleyball Opens Conference With Sweep of SBVC, Will Hold Clinic Friday

The MSJC volleyball team won a close first set and then went on to cruise to a 3-0 victory at San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday night.

The Eagles fought hard for a 28-26 win in the opening set and then won by scores of 25-17 and 25-12 to wrap up the victory in their first Inland Empire Athletic Conference match of the season.

The well balanced offense was led by 7 kills from Allison Rozell, Olivia Elliot and Makenzie Nutting both added 6.  Faith Galvan was right behind them with 5 kills of her own while she also picked up a team high 7 digs on defense. Jacquline Barbosa passed out a match high 29 assists in the win.  Jacquiline Leanos had two solo blocks.

The win improved the Eagles to 6-8 overall on the season and they are 1-0 in IEAC action.  MSJC will return home on Friday night when they host College of the Desert in a 5 pm match. 

The team and coaching staff will host a Free kids clinic on Friday immediately following their match with Desert.  All boys and girls from kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to attend.
