Two Sweeps Move Eagle Volleyball to 7-0 in IEAC

The MSJC women's volleyball moved their winning streak to 10 matches in a row last week as they swept a pair of road matches at Victor Valley and at College of the Desert.

The Eagles won in Victorville on Wednesday by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-18 to sweep the Rams.  Mckenna Conklin had a team high 9 kills in the win, with Carley Kruse adding 8, and both Brooklynn Thomas and Megan Gajda knocking down 7 a piece.  Trysta Vincelli passed out a season high 37 assists for the Eagles.  Conklin and Gajda also led the way on defense picking up 13 and 10 digs.  Hailey Frary added a solo block and a block assist.

Friday MSJC traveled to Palm Desert as they picked up their second win of the year over COD.  The Eagles swept the Roadrunners; 25-13, 25-18, and 25-16.  Gajda had a match high 11 kills while Conklin added 9.  Vincelli went over 30 assists once again with 32 on the day.  Brooklyn Jimenez had a team high 13 digs and Kruse had a pair of solo blocks and a pair of block assists.

The Eagles are now 18-4 overall on the season and 7-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play.  MSJC will play four of their final five matches of the regular season at home starting with Cerro Coso on Friday at 5 pm on the San Jacinto Campus.  The Eagles will also be at home twice next week when they host San Bernardino on Wednesday and Copper Mountain on Friday.
