The MSJC baseball team scored double figure runs in all four games last week as they picked up wins over Cerro Coso, Desert, and two against Barstow.

The Eagles started the week at home on Tuesday against Cerro Coso and got off to a bit of a slow start as they trailed 6-3 after three and a half innings.  MSJC would respond to rally back and take the lead and then push the game out of reach with a huge 9 run 8th inning to win the game 18-7.  Austin Sargent had three hits, including a homerun as he drove in three runs on the day.  Christian Smith also had 3 hits, two of them doubles as he also drove home 3 runs in the win.  Adrian Vento was the third MSJC player to have 3 RBIs in the game while Greg Luna and Dominick Lombardi each drove home two.  Julian Castro improved to 7-0 as he earned the pitching victory.

Thursday on the road at College of the Desert a six run top of the 5th inning gave the Eagles all the cushion they would need as they went on to defeat the Roadrunners 15-5.  Sargent stayed hot driving home three more runs while Luna, Vento, and Juni Rodriguez each drove in a pair.  Tanner Aoki had 3 hits in the game and Pierce Sailer earned the win on the mound.

Saturday the Eagles traveled to Barstow where they completed an earlier halted game with a 10-1 7 inning victory.  Joseph Romero was credited with a complete game victory allowing just one run while striking out 10.  Steven Kirtides had a big game with 3 hits including a double and a triple as he picked up 3 RBIs.  In the originally scheduled game Saturday the Eagles took command early as they scored 11 runs in the first 3 innings on their way to an 18-2 victory.  Kirtides, Sargent, and Vento all homered in the game.  Kirtides had a season high 5 RBIs while Vento added 3.  Sargent, Smith, and Dayton Thompson all had 2 RBIs in the game.

MSJC is now 28-10 on the season and 17-5 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles will wrap up the regular season this week with two home games.  Tuesday MSJC will host Victor Valley and Thursday they will take on Chaffey, with both games starting at 2 pm.
