MSJC Softball Falls to LA Harbor in Doubleheader

The MSJC softball team came up just short at home on Wednesday as they lost a pair of games to visiting Los Angeles Harbor College.

The Eagles fell behind the Seahawks 4-0 on in game one, but rallied back to pull withing one at 4-3 aftter 4 innings.  Harbor added an insurance run in the top of the sixth and held on to win 5-4.  Amy Naranjo had 3 hits to lead the Eagle offense, she also scored two runs.  Azaylea Carrasco and Hailey Cardenas each had an RBI for MSJC.  Amanda Gromko threw six solid innings in the circle as she allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking two and striking out 4.  Hailey Matthews threw a scoreless 7th inning for the Eagles.

Harbor jumped ahead in game two as they scored 4 times in the top of the first on their way to an 8-0 five inning win.  Matthews picked up the only hit of the game for the Eagles.

MSJC is now 5-9 on the season and will begin Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to San Bernardino Valley.  Wednesday game is scheduled for 2 pm at the LLU Drayson Center.
