The MSJC softball team ended a three game losing streak on Monday as they went on the road and defeated Southwestern 5-1 in a non-conference game.

Katryna Detert got things started early for the Eagles as she knocked in Annalie Castanon with an RBI single in the top of the first.  MSJC would add four more runs in the second when Isabella Harris had an RBI single, followed by a two run double from Natalie Juarez, before Detert added her second run scoring single in as many innings.  Detert finished the day with three hits while Madison Morris also chipped in with a pair of hits.

Trinity Robinson went the distance in the circle as she allowed just one unearned run.  Southwestern pushed the run across in the bottom of the 6th, as Robinson limited them to 5 hits on the day and had 4 strike outs.

The Eagle offensive out put was their best in over a week as they lost by shut out three times last week.  MSJC fell in tough games to Palomar 8-0, Citrus 4-0, and Saddleback 1-0.

MSJC is now 6-6 on the season and have their first conference games of the year scheduled for Friday at San Bernardino Valley.  The Eagles will take on the Wolverines in an Inland Empire Athletic Conference doubleheader with the first game scheduled for 11 am.
