The MSJC softball team played their final home conference game of the season on Wednesday and their final home game of the year on Friday picking up a pair of victories.

Wednesday the Eagles defeated Victor Valley 6-2 to finish off their Inland Empire Athletic Conference schedule with a 9-3 record.  MSJC scored 3 runs in the bottom of the third when Natalie Juarez hit a two run triple and then scored on an over throw from the outfield.  The Eagles would add 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5th as they scored on a wild pitch, before Carolina Blanco knocked home two runs with a single.  Stephanie Wagner earned her 8th victory of the season in the circle as she threw the first 5 innings of the game allowing just two runs while striking out 3.  Katryna Detert pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Friday MSJC celebrated their sophomores with a brief ceremony prior to their final non-conference home game against East Los Angeles.  As for the game itself, it was a pitcher's duel as the Eagles scored a single run in the bottom of the first and made it hold up for the 1-0 win.  Juarez had an RBI single when she drove home Annalie Castanon for the game's only run.  Detert started for the Eagles on the rubber and pitched six scoreless innings as she scattered 6 hits and recorded 3 strikeouts.  Wagner came on to shut down the Huskies in the 7th.

MSJC now stands at 19-12 overall on the year and finished league play at 9-3, currently Chaffey leads the conference standings at 8-2, they have two games with Victor Valley remaining on their schedule.  The Eagles have two road non-conference games scheduled this week to wrap the regular season.  Monday MSJC travels to Long Beach City for a 2 pm game and Tuesday the Eagles will travel to Southwestern with that game set to begin at 3 pm.
