WBB: Eagles Defeat Antelope, Lose to Top Ranked Palomar

The MSJC women's basketball team split a pair of games on Thursday and Friday in the 8th Annual San Jacinto Lion's Club Tip-Off Classic.

On Thursday MSJC gave up a 13 point halftime lead in the third quarter, but then regained control of the game in the fourth as they defeated Antelope Valley 70-61.  The Eagles got a double double from Alexis Pina as she tied for team high honors with 16 points as well as pulling down a game high 11 rebounds.  Shyann Morreo also scored 16 for MSJC as she made some clutch second half shots including three second half three pointers.  Maliyah Bosley was solid with a 9 point 9 rebound game while Sandee Heiermann and Valeria Brewer both dished out 4 assists each.

Friday MSJC lost steam in the second half against Palomar, who came into the contest ranked #1 in Southern California, as they lost to the Comets 83-50.  Morreo once again led the team in scoring with 12.

The Eagles now 2-1 on the season will return to action on Friday when they travel to San Marcos to take on East Los Angeles.  Saturday MSJC will play Hancock College, both days the games will be played at Palomar and tip-off at 4 pm.
