The MSJC women's basketball team split a pair of games last week as they lost to Mt. SAC and picked up a win at Imperial Valley.

The third quarter was the turning point on Tuesday night as the Eagles saw a two point halftime deficit balloon to 14 at the end of the third period as they shot just 1 of 17 from the field and were out scored 15-3 in the quarter.  MSJC could not recover in the fourth and lost at home to Mt. SAC 64-49.  Alexis Pina had a double double for MSJC as she scored a team high 14 points and pulled in 10 rebounds.  Sandee Heiermann was the only other Eagle to score in double figures with 11, Jana Roman pulled in a game high 13 rebounds in the loss.

MSJC bounced back on Wednesday as they went on the road and defeated Imperial Valley 69-43.  Four Eagles scored in double figures led by Shyann Morreo who had 20 and all four of those players recorded double doubles with Morreo pulling in 13 rebounds.  Pina had 14 points and 13 boards, Heiermann had 13 and 10, and Roman scored 11 while grabbing a career high 17 rebounds.  MSJC out rebounded Imperial 70-31 in the victory.

MSJC is now 11-2 on the season and return to action this week when they take on LA Trade Tech and Rio Hondo in two games to be played at Trade Tech.  Wednesday the Eagles will play the Beavers at 5 pm and on Thursday MSJC takes on Rio at 1 pm.
