Eagle Women Pick Up Road IEAC Win at San Bernardino

The MSJC women's basketball team used a huge second quarter to pull away on Saturday as they picked up a 95-39 road win at San Bernardino Valley.

The Eagles struggled out of the gate to get their offense going on Saturday and were tied with SBVC 10-10 before a layup by Maliyah Bosley with 1:58 to play in the opening period sparked a 20-0 run that would put MSJC up 30-10 by the 6:30 mark of the second.  The Eagles would go on to outscore the Wolverines 29-2 in the second period to go into the halftime break with a  48-12 lead.

Sandee Heiermann dominated the game as she scored a game high 28 points while dishing out 9 assists, grabbing 7 rebounds, and making 6 steals.  Jana Roman collected a double double for MSJC as she scored 16 points on 8 of 10 shooting and pulled down a team high 10 rebounds.  Rayven Crook also hit double figures in scoring with 15 points in the victory while Valeria Brewer came off the bench to add 10.  Bosley and Jheisymae Artagame added 7 points a piece for MSJC.

The Eagles are now 15-2 overall on the season and 3-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play.  MSJC returns to action on Wednesday night when they host Copper Mountain at 5 pm.  The men's team will also host the Fighitng Cacti on Wednesday with tip for their game scheduled at 7.
