WBB: Eagles Close Out Palo Verde With Big Second Half

The MSJC women's basketball team played a sluggish first half, before ending the game on a 39-8 run to defeat Palo Verde College on the road 78-39 on Saturday.

The Eagles led 22-13 after the opening period, but their offense stalled in the second quarter as the went into the locker room at halftime up 33-23.  Palo Verde scored the first four points of the second half, before the Eagles regrouped to out score the Pirates 45-12 the rest of the way.  

Jheisymae Artagame led all scorers in the contest as she connected on 9 three point shots on her way to 27.  Jana Roman continued her streak of double doubles as she scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.  Sandee Heiermann added 14 points and 7 rebounds in limited action while Rayven Crook scored 8 and had a game best 6 assists.  Maliyah Bosley added 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Eagles are now 21-2 overall on the season and 9-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games.  MSJC has just one game on the schedule this week as they host San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday at 5 pm.
