Taylor Bell has been named the new Mt. San Jacinto College Women's Head Basketball Coach according to Dean of Kinesiology, Health, Nutrition and Athletics Patrick Springer.

"I take great pleasure in announcing Taylor Bell as our new Head Women's Basketball Coach!  We recruited Taylor 14 years ago to be a part of our basketball program and he has been a center piece of our athletic and academic success from the moment he stepped on campus.  Coach Bell will bring a wealth of enthusiasm, professionalism and knowledge to the position that will allow him to continue the amazing tradition that is Mt. San Jacinto College Women's Basketball."

Bell, a former MSJC player himself, spent the past six seasons on the coaching staff for the Eagle men's team.   While on the men's staff, he helped the Eagles to six straight CCCAA State play-off appearances and a conference championship.

Bell, who played for MSJC from 2010-2012 and was named All Foothill Conference as a sophomore earned a scholarship to complete his playing career at Cal State Stanislaus.  During his senior season the Warriors won the CCAA conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

Since his graduation from Stanislaus, the Redlands native has been involved in coaching including spending time at the high school level as well as working on the travel ball circuit.  Bell spent the four seasons prior to joining MSJC as a varsity assistant at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands.

Taylor also has a full-time job on campus as the Student Athlete Scholars Program Coordinator.

"I want to thank Dean Springer for this opportunity, I am excited to get going", said Bell.   "This program has a great tradition of winning at the highest level and moving students on to four-year schools. I plan to continue that."
