WBB: MSJC Pushes Win Streak to Seven

The MSJC women's basketball team improved their winning streak to seven games last week as they picked up road wins at San Diego Mesa and Chaffey.

Wednesday the Eagles traveled to San Diego and came away with an 83-70 win at Mesa.  Breyonna Bell scored a game high 24 points, she also had 3 assists.  Valeria Brewer contributed 15 points and 4 steals to the winning effort while Jana Roman recorded a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Vika Afungia and Drasoni Kyles both added 8 points a piece.

Saturday MSJC traveled to Rancho Cucamonga and built a 35-21 lead by halftime on their way to an easy 67-38 win against Chaffey.  Natalie Derla had a team high 21 points for the Eagles and Bell had a double double with 11 points and a game high 12 rebounds.  Roman and Brewer also reached double figures in the win with 12 and 10 points, Brewer also added 4 assists.

The two wins improved the Eagles record to 10-2 on the season and the team will host a pair of non-conference home games this week.  Wednesday MSJC will take on Imperial Valley at 3 pm and then on Saturday host Victor Valley in non-conference match up at 1 pm.
