WBB: Eagles Dominate Palo Verde to Stay Perfect in IEAC

The MSJC women's basketball team won easily on Saturday afternoon at home as they defeated visiting Palo Verde 85-29 in an Inland Empire Athletic Conference game.

The Eagles remain unbeaten in IEAC play as they improved to 7-0 in league games, they are now 22-3 overall.  Saturday started quickly for MSJC as they built leads of 28-5 after the opening quarter and 53-13 by halftime on their way to victory.

Breyonna Bell led three players in double figures for MSJC as she scored a game high 17 points, she also had 3 assists and 3 steals.  Jana Roman had another double double as she finished the afternoon with 14 points and 12 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action.  Valeria Brewer also hit double digits as she scored 15, she also passed out a game high 5 assists.  The bench was solid for the Eagles as well with Lauren Pagtakhan adding 8 points while Melissa Castro had 7.  Alaysia Kidwell and Vika Afungia both pulled in 8 rebounds a piece as MSJC dominated the glass out rebounding the Pirates 56-34.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday February 14th when they host Chaffey at 5 pm.
