Volleyball Wins Three Straight, Improve to 7-1 in IEAC

The MSJC volleyball team had a productive eight day run as they picked up three Inland Empire Athletic Conference victories to improve to 7-1 in conference play.

The Eagles started the three match win streak on Friday October 21st with a sweep of Victor Valley followed by sweeps of San Bernardino Valley and Chaffey.

MSJC made quick work of the Rams in Victorville as they won by scores of 25-8, 25-9, and 25-13.  Mckenna Conklin had 12 kills to lead the offense while both Audrey Underwood and Kennidy Martin knocked down 6 kills a piece.  Brooklynn Thomas picked up a team best 9 digs in the match and Chloe Mata had six service aces in the sweep.

The Eagles kept in rolling in a home match against San Bernardino on Wednesday as they swept the Wolverines 25-10, 25-17, and 25-16.  Conklin and Martin once again led the offensive charge with 11 and 9 kills, while Trysta Vincelli had a stron match with 7 kills and 15 assists.  Thomas picked up a match high 16 digs on defense.

MSJC then capped the week with a big road win at Chaffey as they defeated the Panthers in three tightly contested sets; 25-23, 25-21, and 25-22.  This time it was Thomas who came up with 12 kills while Conklin again was solid on offense with 11.  Conklin had a team high 12 digs and Vincelli had 20 assists.

The three wins improved the Eagles overall record on the season to 14-9, the 7-1 mark in conference keeps them one match behind Desert in the IEAC standings.  MSJC will host Pasadena in a non-conference match on Wednesday at 5 pm, before heading out to College of the Desert on Friday for a huge conference match up.
